The Mission of the KMA
To motivate young people to become better citizens
A Brief History of the Kenosha Military Academy
The Kenosha Military Academy was originally founded in 1948. The academy lasted until 53' until it was dispended. The academy then came back to the Kenosha Area in the early 60's, were it lasted for a couple of years until it was dispended again. It finally came back in 1997, at Reuther Central High. It stayed there until it was switched over to Indian Trail Academy in 2002, were it still resides.
The Program Itself
The Kenosha Military is an academically based program. We teach the basic academic programs along with LET (Leadership Education Training). In LET class, your cadet will learn how to be a respectable young citizen. They will learn how to march in uniform with the rest of the formation, leadership (rank system implied through academy), and understand the importance of high school graduation for a successful future. They will also learn about college and other advance education & employment opportunities, appreciate the importance of physical fitness in maintaining good health, and the most important thing, being able to think logically and to communicate both orally and in writing, while appreciating the ethical values and principles that underline good citizenship.
